Mandela Week Surgical Marathon

Wismed is proud to support African Synergy Health who will perform a surgical Marathon during Mandela Week from 17-23 July at the Urology Hospital, Cure Day Hospital, Steve Biko Academic Hospital, and the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University.

African Synergy Health (ASH) is a not-for-profit, public benefit organisation. The concept, created by Dr Viola Morolo, supported by Dr Guy Gaudji, Dr Marissa Conradie and Professor Koto with a BIG vision – to have zero patients on elective surgical waiting lists of Urology patients within public sector hospitals in South Africa.

67 procedures will be performed to commemorate the 67 years, Nelson Mandela spent fighting for justice, equality and human rights for all.

During the inaugural African Synergy Health surgical marathon, the procedures will be done pro bono and will create public awareness of this issue and the need to continue to assist patients on waiting lists.
