Advantages of the Oval Face Protector

Positioning the head of patients undergoing procedures in prone position is crucial and remains a difficult task for anesthesiologists. Often, it is a compromise between a normal position of the head without derogating facial and neck tissues while still having sufficient control over airway devices. The main problem in head positioning is based on the fact that anesthetists try to fit the patient's face into the available support as opposed to having the right foam cushion to fit onto the patient's face.

We have the prefect solution - a soft foam cushion that contributes to the patient’s comfort while reducing pressure related injury and complications. Our oval Face Protector is lightweight and protects protruding contact areas of the forehead, cheeks, and chin.

The Face Protector distribute weight more effectively and consists of two layers of specialized foam of varying densities — a grey low-density layer and a pink high-density layer providing enhanced protection against pressure sores. The design allows for a clear view of the eyes, and endotracheal tube for easy monitoring. The thick strap is designed to keep the Face Protector in position securely while the patient is being moved.
